The Trail
Metal Mural
The Trail mural came together with the help of several locals. It is on the side of Garfield Furniture Mattresses Too at 123 S Grand, across the street from the main Garfield Furniture store.
The Chisholm Trail, where around 5 million longhorn cattle were lead from Texas to Kansas, went through downtown Enid at the location of Garfield Furniture. The Trail metal mural was created to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Chisholm Trail, to be part of the 3-state celebration.
The cowboy in the mural was made with the likeness of historian Bob Klemme, who personally created and installed over 400 markers along the Chisholm Trail across the state. Our mural dedication celebration was on Bob's 91st birthday, with historians from across the state attending.
